It has been a while since I have put my finger tips to the lap top for our newsletter for a number of reasons -
Firstly there has been the inevitable burning of candles at both ends, which caused a mini burnout and the need to get away.
The second has been the obvious ‘busy-ness’ that comes at the end of the year which we are all loving.
My need to get away led me to Vic Falls to spend some time with a friend
I was devastated to see the destruction and decay since our arch enemy ‘Bob’ lost the plot.
The good news is that has not stopped the tourists from arriving and providing much needed revenue to the locals. The hotels were in superb condition and the town was like a mini United Nations as there were people from every corner of the world visiting the Falls.
I managed to squeeze in some wonderful adrenalin activities -
I did the Gorge Swing which is a freefall of about 78m before swinging down into the Gorge a total height of 120. My brother was the engineer that put up the ropes and trained the staff, so I was treated like a VIP which made me feel most proud of the work that he has done up there.
Next was the mighty Zambezi and I had my turn as have all others of having a true Zambezi dunking! I did 22 rapids and enjoyed each one of them thoroughly. Both these activities were done through Wild Horizons.
I also spent some time walking with lions - what a special privelage - I even got to scratch Eezi’s stomach - she is a 19 month old lion. The walk was sponsored by Shearwater and I got to meet the management team Nicola and James over dinner at Sue’s house. What a wonderful expat community they have in Vic Falls.
I also finally managed to spend some time on the Chobe River and it is definitely all it is made out to be!
All in all, that was four days of heaven and I can recommend the trip to anybody who has ever wanted to see more of Africa, this is a must on your to do list.
Email me and we will put together a package for you and your team -
With love

It is that time of the year where a lot of the focus is on the Christmas Party -
We have found something that is completely new and unique to spice up your party this year …..
A live performance of Dinner for One -
The sketch runs for not more than 30 minutes which makes it ideal for functions over the festive season.
The performance has never been seen live on stage in South Africa. Featuring two multi-award winning actors, Wilson Dunster and Elize Cawood and directed by Andre Stolz.
The 18 minute black-and-white 1963 TV recording featuring British comedians Freddie Frinton and May Warden has become an integral component of the New Year’s Eve schedule of several German television stations and an absolute cult television classic in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Austria: On New Year’s Eve 2003 alone, the sketch was broadcast 19 times (on various channels). As of 2005, the sketch has been repeated more than 230 times. It is famous in other countries as well - including German-speaking Switzerland and South Africa.

Activist Issues
“Beauty Without Cruelty has been working for over 30 years in South Africa, making people aware of the abuse that takes place against animals for the sake of the beauty industry and encouraging consumers to buy beauty products that are endorsed by BWC. The charity gives educational talks at schools and other institutions and in recent years has expanded its areas of concern to include factory farming, wildlife, in particular elephants and seals, and animals used to make a living.
International activist Keith Mann will be coming to South Africa in November, and will be in Cape Town and Johannesburg as part of the Animal Rights Film Festivals and the Rock Concert to be held in both centres.
For more information on these events, or if you are interested in getting involved, please email Lejane at lejanne@bunnyhuggers.co.za or Anne at mwvliet@mweb.co.za. Visit the website at www.bwcsa.co.za.
Thought for the week
Make today a breeze not a battle
Never fight. Nothing is worth fighting for. Wisdom never fights, it waits patiently, speaks positively, releases easily, sees benefit in everything and envisions a future of abundance…knowing that all needs will be met at the right moment, in the right way. If you think life is a struggle you will always be struggling, If you think life is a breeze, your attitudes and actions will convey lightness and easiness. And that’s what attracts everything you need, and much more. Make today a breeze not a battle
Help keep our country and it’s cities tidy
A tidy city is the sign of a civilized society!
